Moving from Portugal to London was not an easy decision, but the main issue was doing the right job in London. I secured a well-paid job in the non-IT sector, but I was targeting the IT sector due to my computer science degree as well as my previous experience in the IT helpdesk and NOC. I started my career as an “IT Support Engineer” back in 2008. During my 12-year of IT Support journey, I was never satisfied with my career growth and progression. Despite my professional IT certifications and 12 years of experience, I was a decent IT engineer. Due to the market trend, I was looking more towards the “Cloud Security domain” where I can satisfy my hunger to succeed. I learned about the Program through an online advertisement, a “Snr IT Security Consultant” guided me for the “Cloud Security Program” to cover the Major Cloud Security Vendors with live project experience. As I was based in Manchester, and my online class experience was not great, however, the Team of Fortray had given me enough confidence that there will be no difference between joining from online or Classroom. My 1st experience was amazing, as I was able, not able to see the full classroom but can interact with all my classmates via the 4K video conferencing system. Moreover, I was provided 24/7 secured LAB access where I can practice during and after the class. After 12 years of drought, I landed straight into the “Cyber Security Consultant”. I was initially a little unsure of how to begin my career in IT while finishing my master's.
